Film Meme : (10/10) Movies - American Psycho (2000) ~ Dir.: Mary Harron
There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused… and my utter indifference toward it, I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp… and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape. But even after admitting this, there is no catharsis. My punishment continues to elude me… and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself. No new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant… nothing.

A friend once told me (while discussing wines & spirits) to learn about coffees too… " Because you’ll eventually need them, if / when you enjoy too much good spirits."
yes hi, ok, can we just talk about this screenshot from american psycho for a second?
this is literally right after patrick killed paul. he put down the axe, took off his rain coat and sat on the couch.
the reason this shot in particular is so fucking brilliant is the blood spatter on his face. the blood from paul for the most part landed on the right side of his face, leaving the left, fort he most part, untouched. and it’s just so fucking brilliant, it’s just so good, this one scene when he sits down on the couch you can barely see the blood, only a few speckles down his profile, but other than that he looks content and relaxed and innocent, like a guy who just finished a long day at work. when in reality, less than 5 seconds a go he axed someone to death. it’s the face he shows to the world, a very straight-faced man even though you can just see the evidence of his crimes, but no one pays attention- it sums up the entire movie in one photo. and now he sits down contently, and picks up a cigar. the camera pans out to see his whole face as he lights up, and paul’s body on the ground. it’s perfect, it is the perfect shot.
ok, i’m done.
